Who are those folks working here?
Although ATG Laboratories operates as an umbrella organization for independent contractors, the owner and full-time resident engineer is Jerome "Jerry" Schneider.

Jerry has almost 30 years' experience in the computer industry, as both a hardware and a software engineer. He studied electronics as a youth, and began programming in the infancy of the commercial computer era. At that time, the universities had no combined EE/CS degree, so while at Colorado State University, Jerry designed his own program, simultaneously studying digital engineering in the EE department and CS in the Math department.

Today, Jerry is still applying his crossover skills in EE and CS to the design of device drivers that couple complex hardware to the internal workings of modern operating systems. Never content with simply maintaining his consummate skills in a technology area, he began using Java the moment the beta release was available in 1995. He is currently designing a Java-based Framework and Class library for use in specialized kiosk products.

As important as his work is, Jerry really enjoys listening to and playing live jazz. For him, intimate chamber music is heaven; rap music is hell. For recreation, he bicycles, runs, and cross-country skiis when time permits, and is continually searching for healthy gourmet food.

This sketch of Jerry was done by Jackie Dial (the Significant Other). Holding a PhD and two MSs, she now enjoys teaching and working as a biomedical illustrator, editor, and writer. If you're curious, you can see some of her writings and drawings on her MedicaLink web site.

As much as we enjoy beating our drums, most folks are probably looking at this page to find Jerry's current skill set and a detailed work history used to construct his résumé.

At some time in the future, we hope to add links to a few intellectually stimulating sites we've found, perhaps a link with streaming audio of an original composition, and maybe even an Editorial page. For now, you'll have to be contented with just the facts.
